Broughton
Island Cruise
(3 days)
Depart Lake Macquarie on the high tide, sailing on in to the evening
with the first port of call of Port Stephens. Pick up a mooring within
Nelson Bay, enjoy a nice dinner, glass of wine and sleep on board
overnight.
After breakfast the next morning, sail out through the
headlands of Tomaree and Yacaaba, past Cabbage Tree Island & on to
Broughton Island. After lunch on board, go ashore for a walk and
take in the Island’s natural beauty. After enjoying a glass of wine
with a cheese platter on the beach, head back to the yacht and
enjoy a sumptuous dinner under the stars followed by a good nights
sleep.
The next morning, depart Broughton and sail back to Lake
Macquarie arriving at the Lake’s entrance before sunset.

Pittwater Cruise
(3 days)
Depart Lake Macquarie on the high tide sailing south to Broken Bay into
the evening and take up a safe anchorage within Refuge Bay. Enjoy a late
dinner with a glass of wine and a peaceful night aboard.
After breakfast, go ashore and explore the waterfall and a
have walk. Back on board for lunch and a leisurely cruise around
Pittwater enjoying the spectacular sights and serenity. Anchor
in a quiet bay and enjoy a fine dinner with a glass or two of wine
followed by a good nights sleep.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off to sail back along the
coast to Lake Macquarie.

Pittwater & Sydney Harbour Cruise
(3 days)
Depart Lake Macquarie on the high tide sailing south to Broken Bay
into the evening and take up a safe anchorage within Refuge Bay. Enjoy
a late dinner with a glass of wine and a peaceful night aboard.
After breakfast, take a quick look around Pittwater before
sailing past Barrenjoey lighthouse turning south & on to Sydney
Harbour with lunch on the way. Enter Sydney Harbour and sail up
under the Bridge and anchor within Blackwattle Bay where you will
settle down for the night, enjoy a glass of wine, a nice dinner and a
good sleep. In the morning, go into the Sydney Fish Markets to pick up fresh prawns and have
breakfast of green king prawns cooked (on board) with garlic butter
and French bread. Then cruise down the Harbour, out
through the heads and sail back to the Lake arriving at Swansea before
sunset.

Mystery Destination Cruise
(3 days)
The destination depends on the direction of the wind. We’ll depart
Lake Macquarie on the high tide. If the wind is from the north, we
will head south towards Pittwater. If the wind is from the south, we
will sail north towards Port Stephens & Broughton Island.

2008 Audi Sydney Newcastle
Offshore Yacht Race
The
250 nautical mile Cat 2 race will start at 6pm on Friday 7
March, 2008, from Sydney Harbour to a laid mark around 20
nautical miles east of Crowdy
Head before
the fleet heads to Newcastle and the finish in the Hunter
River. The Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Yacht Race
replaces the Audi Sydney Southport and Sydney Mooloolaba
yacht races. The traditional Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht
Race starting the last Saturday of July will continue as
the opening race of the seven-race Blue Water Pointscore
Series.

2008 Gosford
to Lord Howe Island Race
Now in it’s
36rd year this Category 1 ocean race is numbers restricted
due to limited sheltered moorings as a result of the
environmental vision of the Island. 3-4 days of blue water
racing clears the mind for the scenic joys of an unspoiled
ecology. A trip you will never forget on a Beneteau First
47.7 making her fifth consecutive race trip.

2008 Audi
Sydney to Gold Coast (29th
July 2008)
The Audi
Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, which starts at 1.00pm from
Sydney Harbour on Saturday 29 July, constitutes the first
race of the CYCA's 2008-09 Blue Water Championship Series.
After trialling an altered sailing calendar in 2006, the
Cruising Yacht Club of Australia has reverted its second
largest offshore event behind the Rolex Sydney Hobart, the
Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, back to its traditional
winter timeslot. The Audi Sydney Gold Coast, which began
in 1986, has traditionally been the curtain opener for the
winter northern racing circuit at Airlie Beach and
Hamilton Island. |

2008
Hamilton Island Race Week
(15-23
August 2008)
Now in it’s
26th year Hamo has developed a reputation for keen racing
and lots of partying. The organisers have non-stop
activities for both sailors and their shore bound
partners. 2 lay days allow for lots of R&R Audi in it's
second year as major sponsor will no doubt continue to
expand and improve the experience to an already fantastic
week.

2008 Ailie
Beach Race Week (8-18
August 2008)
Formerly
known as Hogs Breath Race Week, this event is now in its
19th year. The race week is based out of Abel Point Marina
about 10 mins walk to the metropolis of Airlie Beach.
There are five race days with a lay day in the middle of
the race week. The fleet grows every year and 2008 is
likely to be no different. The accommodation,
entertainment and facilities are much more reasonably
priced and the racing is generally more demanding.

2008 Rolex
Sydney to Hobart
The 63nd
Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2007 will start on 26
December and will be conducted on the waters of Sydney
Harbour, the Tasman Sea, Storm Bay and the Derwent River.
Over the past 63 years, the Rolex Sydney Hobart has become
an icon of Australia’s summer sport, ranking in public
interest with such national events as the Melbourne Cup
horse race, the Davis Cup tennis and the cricket tests
between Australia and England. Few other yachting events
worldwide attract media coverage like this does with over
40% of viewers coming from outside of Australia.
Cost
